Rally Competitor

New

• The odometer can now run off an AccuRally Pulse 100 — a small box wired to your car’s speed sensor, connected over Bluetooth. Settings ▸ Odometer inputs, then pick Pulse 100 Input A or Input B. Either input slot can take either channel, so you can run two calibrations of the one box.
• Battery level and whether it is on the cable now show for a connected GPS or Pulse 100.
• With more than one Pulse 100 or RaceBox in range, the app asks which one is yours instead of taking whichever answers first. Strongest signal is usually the one in your car.
• The odometer readout names the box feeding it, so you can see at a glance which one you are on.

Changed

• The GPS and the odometer inputs are chosen from lists now, instead of rows of buttons. Auto is still there as a toggle, and picking a GPS from the list turns it off.
• A RaceBox or a Pulse 100 will not connect until you have picked which one. You do this once each time you open the app, from Settings, and “Change device” beside the name switches to another. The Dual XGPS160 is not affected — you pair that with the phone as you always have, and the phone’s own GPS needs nothing.

Known issues

• Which RaceBox or Pulse 100 you picked is forgotten when you close the app — pick it again next time you start.
• The Pulse 100 is beta hardware and only a few exist. Nothing changes for you if you are not running one.

Worth testing

• Settings ▸ Odometer inputs: pick Pulse 100 Input A, choose your box from the list, and check the odometer counts as you drive.
• Set Input 1 and Input 2 to the two channels of the one box, with different factors, then swap which is active.
• With a second box switched on nearby, confirm you are asked which one, and that the name shown is yours.

RallyMaster

Fixed

• Speed kept showing its last value after the GPS stopped feeding it, which read as though you were still moving. It now blanks.
• If the GPS failed to start you were told nothing. There is now a message and a Retry, and Retry asks for location permission again if that was the problem.
• The GPS line showed an internal name. It now shows the receiver.

New

• The odometer can now run off an AccuRally Pulse 100 — a small box wired to your car’s speed sensor, connected over Bluetooth. Odo tab, then pick Pulse 100 Input A or Input B. It was listed as “Under development” before.
• Two odometer inputs instead of one, each with its own factor and one of them active. Set both to the two channels of the one box if you want two calibrations of it.
• Trim either factor by 0.1% without making that input active first.
• Battery level and whether it is on the cable now show for a connected GPS or Pulse 100.
• With more than one Pulse 100 or RaceBox in range, the app asks which one is yours instead of taking whichever answers first. Strongest signal is usually the one in your car.
• The odometer readout names the box feeding it.
• Edit a checkpoint in place, under the row you tapped, instead of on a separate screen.

Changed

• The GPS and the odometer inputs are chosen from lists now, instead of rows of buttons, with an Auto toggle for the GPS. The same screens and the same names as the competitor app.
• A RaceBox or a Pulse 100 will not connect until you have picked which one, once each time you open the app. The Dual XGPS160 is not affected, and the phone’s own GPS needs nothing.
• The header matches the competitor app — brand on the left, GPS pulse to the right of the divider.
• The practice (simulated) odometer has been removed. It belongs in the competitor app, not here.

Known issues

• Turn the GPS receiver off mid-session and watch the speed blank rather than freeze.
• Deny location permission, then use Retry and allow it.
• Tap a checkpoint and edit it under the row.

RallyMaster

Fixed

• Every checkpoint showed an hourglass as if it were still waiting to upload, even long after it was safely on the server. Rows now show a checkmark.
• Calibrating on the Odo tab now sets the odometer to the mileage you entered, the same as an ODOCAL instruction.
• The app version now shows on the Settings page.

New

• Tap a checkpoint to view and edit it — type, expected time, mileage, description — or delete it. Position is not editable: delete and re-place from where you stand.
• Two rallymasters can now work the same stage. Checkpoints placed or changed on one device appear on the other within a few seconds.
• If you and another rallymaster save the same checkpoint at the same time, the later save is refused with “The checkpoint was just edited by another user.” — nothing is overwritten silently. Open the checkpoint again to see their change, then make yours.
• Publishing now locks the course. Once published, checkpoints can’t be added, deleted or edited — marking one Excluded and editing its description still work. To fix the course, unpublish, edit, publish again, and tell crews to re-arm.
• Cars can only join a rally after it is published.

Known issues

• Working the same stage on two devices has been tested on our bench, not yet in the field.

Worth testing

• Two devices (or a device and the website) on the same stage: add and edit checkpoints on both and watch them appear on the other.
• Edit the same checkpoint on both at once — the slower save should be refused with a clear message, and the row should show the other person’s values.
• Publish a rally, then try to add or delete a checkpoint. Then unpublish and try again.
• Have a car try to join before the rally is published.

AccuRally website

New

• RallyMaster web console: checkpoint lists and the routebook refresh on their own while you work — you see other rallymasters’ changes without reloading the page.
• If someone else saves the routebook while you are editing it, you are told, and you choose “Use theirs” or “Keep mine” instead of losing work silently.
• The same simultaneous-edit protection as the app on individual checkpoints, with the same message.

Changed

• Publishing locks the course and opens joining, exactly as in the app.

Rally Competitor

Fixed

• The clock stuttered and skipped seconds. It was showing about half of all seconds one low, so it would repeat a value and then jump by two.
• Pauses and gains in the instruction list showed a decimal minute — “PAUSE 0.5”. They now read as time: “PAUSE +30”, “GAIN −30”.
• In the PAUSE! box, typing “1:30” entered one second and “0:15” did nothing at all. Entry with a colon now works.

New

• Settings ▸ Time Display Unit — Seconds or Cents. Changes the clock, calculated times, pauses, gains and your error readout, and what you type into them. It does not change the rally or your scores.
• A Split column on the instruction lists. Once you split an instruction it shows how early or late you were there, or the mileage correction if you tweeked the odometer to it.

Changed

• The error readout turns green or red sooner: it stays white only within 0.06 s, where before it stayed white up to half a second.
• Your car number is locked while you are registered to a rally. Unregister to change it.
• Clearly wrong entries are now refused: a CAST over 200, a zero odometer factor, midnight as a SETTIME.

Worth testing

• Watch the clock for 30 seconds — no repeated seconds, no skipped ones.
• Switch to Cents and back. Check the clock, a pause, and your error.
• Enter a pause as “1:30” and as “90”, in both units.
• Split an instruction and read the Split column.
• Sit on schedule and watch when the error changes colour.

• Odometer calibration, on the Odo tab. A Factor row with a 0.1% trim, and an Odo check: reset to 0 at the start post, drive the measured section, type its official distance and press Calibrate. The odometer then reads official units whatever the GPS reports natively — including on a kilometre rally.
• Calibrate BEFORE setting any checkpoint with Use OM switched on, or its mileage carries an uncalibrated reading.
• Settings ▸ Time Display Unit — Seconds or Cents.

Known issues

• The factor is not saved yet — recalibrate after restarting the app.

Worth testing

• An odo check over a known distance, then check the checkpoint mileages.
• Watch the clock for 30 seconds — no repeated seconds, no skipped ones.
